A little slice of heaven. You know...a hole-in-the-wall apartment, a vehicle that only breaks down once a week and, if fate smiles kindly, a good looking woman he can proudly take home to his parents. Tack on a decent job he doesn't hate to round out Jack's suburban life. Is that too much to ask? For Jack, it is.

Can he overcome psychotic co-workers, a boss that covers the truth, and falling on the wrong side of the fence? Not to mention interfering parents, trying to climb the rat-race ladder, and a girl that knows a little too much about him.

It all adds up to sleepless nights and a can of beans for his one meal per day.

Will Jack get out of this?

Reader beware This has a cliff-hanger ending.

The way this is written is a little weird and odd but it works, it was a fun read. It took me about 2 hours to read this short book so a good one for reading on a flight, at the beach or just if having a lazy afternoon in the back yard.

All Jacked Up All Jacked Up Series Book 1 edition by LA Tripp Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

This book was just a short read. Wasn't my favorite but It was a quick read . Friend and not so much friends interacting.
I must admit that I have a habit of reading books that normally wouldn't be found on the Best Sellers list. Doing this I have enjoyed many books that I would have ignored & this by far is at the top of my list. It is a comical story of a young man finding his way in the world just out of school & dealing with parents that smother him & coming of age sexually. Very good easy read.
This novelette is a lot of fun. I like Jack. I like the world that was painted through Jack's eyes. Jack even reminded me, in the nicest possible way, how wonderful it is to no longer be guided by a teenage brain.

LA Tripp should take a bow for 'All Jacked Up' because making light of serous stuff without offending is a form of true goodness in literature. This novelette is both clever and funny.

Spend a dollar and take this quick read to bed with you. Let Jack share his journey. You need the laugh. --- Five stars
Although the story was well written and got to the current time as fast as possible, this novel left me wondering. Where was the humor? Where was the reason for suspense build up? It never came through and left me feeling disappointed. This novel has a good premise, but not enough follow through.
All Jacked Up is a fast, funny read about an endearing young fellow who experiences some amusing obstacles as he tries to get his start in life. He has his own apartment and a promising new job as a newspaper reporter, but it's far from smooth sailing for hapless Jack. The scantily furnished apartment offers little privacy from invasive individuals such as parents who drop in without warning. The job comes with grueling deadlines, an intimidating boss and a psychotic co-worker.

At times, I felt sympathy for Jack and other times I wanted to shake some sense into him because some of his misadventures were of his own doing. The story ends rather abruptly and on a bit of a disappointing note for poor Jack, just when it looked like he was getting a handle on things. The reader is left waiting to find out what will happen to Jack next...and looking forward to the next volume of his story.
The chaos of this story, about a young man fresh out of high school and trying to start a life, is all in Jack's mind. It is a funny romp with a great deal of satire and accompanying paranoia. One has to admire the courage of Jack, who refuses to live at home and gets a new job and an apartment with no real clue as to how to live life. He does his best to persevere, however, and that makes for an entertaining story.

This is a character piece, and we really have a character in Jack, whose complete lack of life experience seems to haunt him every moment of his waking life, and even decides his dreams are fair game. It is a well written story, with a lot of spunk, but cannot be taken seriously. It is humorous and even silly, leading me to wonder where this is all going in the end, since the author clearly calls this a prequel.

I was a trifle disappointed by the abrupt ending, and can only hope the author segues this into the next part of the story. Funny, maybe a bit cynical, perhaps even realistic to some degree, All Jacked Up is an entertaining and quick moving read.
This book had me laughing from beginning til end at the mishaps and endless bad luck. Poor Jack, he's just a simple guy. All he wants to do is earn a living and maintain a peaceful existence, but he inherited the misfortune of having to work with borderline insane coworkers who refuse to "leave work at work." When you read this book, you'll know exactly what I mean.
The way this is written is a little weird and odd but it works, it was a fun read. It took me about 2 hours to read this short book so a good one for reading on a flight, at the beach or just if having a lazy afternoon in the back yard.
